Yoga is a vehicle for kids and teens of all ages to thrive in an often stressful and demanding world. Children and teenagers today often live in a 'hurry up' world of busyness, working parents, school demands, competitive sport, social media, video games and for our older kids even work. This constant pressure can become stressful causing illness, depression, anxiety, fatigue, sore and tense muscles and insomnia. Yoga can help counter this pressure by teaching them techniques for self care, relaxation and confidence.

I run regular courses at my Brinsmead Yoga Studio for children and teenagers. The courses are held once a week for a duration of 4 to 6 weeks and are progressive to encourage understanding and clarity of the topics covered.
Children aged 10 and above are welcome to join in with the general adult group classes. Private one on one sessions are recommended for specific issues where a more focused approach is required.
School based classes within the Cairns area can be accommodated before, during or after the school day. Classes are age appropriate and consist of two different age groups: 5-11 and 12-17. Every session addresses the basic fundamental needs of all children: physical, cognitive, emotional, social and spiritual, thus developing healthy bodies, minds and spirits. Classes for special needs children are also available. Each class will be educational, fun, engaging and meaningful. Yoga mats are to be supplied by the parent or school, props will be supplied by Yoga First where required.
